Responsibilities: Overall management of the office and is involved campus wide on projects involving student records and registration, data privacy, and informing and interpreting academic policy, as it relates to student records and registration.

Bio: Frank joined the Office of the University Registrar in August 2015. He comes to Duke from Purdue University, where he served as the University Registrar. Prior to that, he worked as Director of the Office of the Registrar at the University of Minnesota - Twin Cities, where he received his PhD in Education Policy and Administration, with a concentration in Higher Education Administration. He is originally from Las Vegas, Nevada.

Responsibilities: Manages the day-to-day operation of the office; reporting; grade submission; web site management; class rank percentiles.

Bio: Bill has worked at Duke since 1993 and assumed the Associate University Registrar position in 2004 where he manages the day-to-day operations of the office. Bill is originally from New Wilmington, PA, and graduated from Westminster College (PA) with a BA in Sociology. Bill earned a M.Ed. from the University of Georgia.  Bill and his wife, Barbara, live in Durham. Together they have two grown children, Amy and Jonathan, and a rambunctious yellow Labrador Retriever named Maddie.

Assistant to the University Registrar

Responsibilities: Provides support to the University Registrar; departmental budgeting/payroll and recordkeeping; performs office manager duties (e.g. scheduling, maintaining inventory, purchasing, and supervising work-study students).

Bio: Dawn joined the Office of the University Registrar in 2006. Dawn is currently a University Transfer student at Durham Tech and in her remaining spare time enjoys reading, crafts, and spending time with family, including her cat, appropriately named Sassy.

Responsibilities: Editor of the University Bulletins, class scheduling, oversees the course catalog, and manages social media. 

Bio: Bahar joined the Office of the University Registrar in 2014. She has a background in web design and communications. She received her bachelor’s degree in Communication Studies from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and her master’s degree in Interactive Media from Elon University. After moving around for several years, she is excited to be back in her hometown of Durham. When she’s not working, she’s obsessively taking photos of her two cats, Lucy and Sgt. Pepper.

Bio: Kimberly joined the Office of the University Registrar in March 2016 and previously worked for three years in the Registrar’s office at her alma mater, Barton College. She received her bachelor’s degree in Mass Communications from Barton College and a master’s degree in Higher Education Administration from Columbia College. Kimberly is originally from Melbourne, Florida and enjoys the North Carolina weather. When she’s not working, she is spending quality time with her family. Kimberly and her husband, George, share the love for sports and working in higher education.

Bio: Keely joined the Office of the University Registrar in 2016. After receiving her bachelor’s degree from Columbia College in South Carolina in 2012 and attending a graduate program that summer in New York, Keely worked as an editor and writer for a literary criticism reference series. In her spare time, she loves to read and travel.

Bio: Jim  has been with Duke University since January 1, 2000, and joined the Registrar's Office in November of that year.  While at Duke, Jim took advantage of the Employee Tuition Assistance program, receiving his Master’s degree in Liberal Studies in 2009.  He has been a resident of Durham, NC since 1995 and is married with one daughter and six grandchildren.

Assistant Registrar for Compliance and Reporting

Responsibilities:  Amy certifies student athletes for intercollegiate and club sport participation, manages the compliance and training for the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA), supervises the creation of the many reports created for campus departments and the National Student Clearinghouse, serves as the Perceptive Software office liaison, and oversees the certification process for students receiving military benefits.

Bio:  Amy joined the OUR staff in 2015 after moving to Durham from frigid Wisconsin where she previously served as the registrar at a small, private, liberal arts college. She is originally from Burlington, Wisconsin and earned her bachelor’s and master’s degrees from the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse. While not at work, she enjoys running, biking and reading. She and her husband Scott are big sports fans, especially college basketball, and her allegiance will always be to the Green Bay Packers.

Responsibilities: Current responsibilities include National Student Clearinghouse runs, academic calendar setup, quality control, statistics, various standardized reporting, and running queries to provide ad hoc reports for departments all over Duke.

Bio: Anna joined the team in Fall 2015 after having worked in Registrar’s Offices both at Cornell University and DEREE - The American College of Greece. She has lived and worked in three countries and transitioned wholeheartedly into Higher Ed in 2011. She graduated with a BS in Computer Information Systems from DEREE and a MA in New Media and Society from The University of Leicester. Anna likes to spend her free time painting, running, getting shattered at the game of Chess by her husband, and playing what she devotedly refers to as World Football.

Bio: Harry is the Assistant University Registrar for Records. He joined the Office of the University Registrar in May 2000, during the implementation of PeopleSoft, and maintains an open door policy. Harry completed his BA in History with a minor in Education at Duke University in December 2012. Harry is a Long Island, NY native enjoying the milder N.C. weather. He is also an avid softball player/coach.

Bio: Mark joined the Office of the University Registrar in 2004 after six years in various admissions capacities at the University of Georgia. After growing up in suburban Washington, DC, his family has called this area home since 1987. He received a BA degree in Sociology from Lenoir-Rhyne University in Hickory. Mark happily commutes to Duke from his home in Raleigh.

Responsibilities: Oversees the registration processes for eight schools within the university and manages the schools’ academic calendars within the student records system.

Bio: Kristin is a transplant from the Washington, DC area. She previously worked for 7 years at George Mason University, located in Northern Virginia, in positions spanning registration, records, scheduling, catalog, and enrollment management. Originally from New York, Kristin received her BA in Psychology from the George Washington University and an MS in Counseling & Personnel Services from Fordham University.

Bio: Kelsey joined the office in March 2016. Originally from Riverside, California, she came to North Carolina to attend Elon University where she received her BA in Psychology. Before deciding she wanted to work in higher education, Kelsey worked as an office assistant for a product development company in Raleigh. While away from work, she enjoys listening to podcasts, reading, and exploring the Raleigh/Durham area.
