The Office of the University Registrar manages course evaluation processes in a centralized Watermark account for the following schools and academic programs:
- The Divinity School
- The Graduate School
- School of Law
- Nicholas School of the Environment
- Office of Biomedical Graduate Education Programs
- Pratt School of Engineering Professional Programs
- Sanford School of Public Policy
- Trinity College of Arts & Sciences
Course evaluation policies, schedules, and questionnaires may vary across schools. Departments and academic programs select which courses will be available for evaluation.
At the end of each academic term, students in participating schools can complete course evaluations online through Watermark (eval-duke.evaluationkit.com). Your feedback is important and contributes to the ongoing improvement of educational programs.
If you have serious concerns about the content of a course or your experiences, remember that Duke’s Office of Institutional Equity has an incident report form for incidents of protected status harassment, discrimination, and related misconduct involving students, faculty, or staff.
Confidentiality
Any information you submit via the online course evaluation form is treated confidentially. Data are reported in the aggregate only, and no personally identifying information will be appended to your course evaluation responses.
Instructors will not see evaluation results until after grades are submitted.
Course evaluation results for courses with less than 5 students enrolled will not be directly accessible to instructors. However, departments will have access to the results of these small courses for interpretation and feedback. Please note that if you share identifiable information about yourself, or are in a very small class, an instructor may be able to identify you.
Online Course Evaluation Forms
If a course evaluation is attached to a class you are enrolled in, you will be able to access the course evaluation form by visiting eval-duke.evaluationkit.com. Throughout the evaluation window, you will receive email notifications of your course(s) eligible for evaluation in the Watermark platform.
Evaluation window dates will be included on the form in your Watermark dashboard. Be aware of your window’s end date to make sure you can submit before it closes.
